‘Brother’ Official Clip: Clement Virgo’s New Film Explores The Lives Of Two Caribbean Immigrants – Deadline

 A clip has dropped for Brother, the feature film written and directed by Clement Virgo (Dear Edward), based on David Chariandy’s novel of the same name and stars Lamar Johnson (The Hate U Give), Aaron Pierre (The Underground Railroad), Kiana Madeira (Fear Street Trilogy), and Marsha Stephanie Blake (When They See Us). The family drama will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival 2022.

Brother is the story of Francis and Michael, sons of Caribbean immigrants maturing into young men amidst Toronto’s pulsing 1990’s hip-hop scene. A mystery unfolds when escalating tensions set off a series of events which changes the course of the brothers’ lives forever.

Aaron L. Gilbert, Steven Thibault of BRON and Laurie May and Noah Segal of Elevation Pictures serve as Executive Producers, with Damon D’Oliveira, Aeschylus Poulos, Sonya Di Rienzo and Clement Virgo serve as producers. Caitlin Grabham is also an associate producer on the film.

Brother is produced by Conquering Lion Pictures and Hawkeye Pictures with the participation of Telefilm Canada, the Canada Media Fund, Ontario Creates and the Shaw Rocket Fund and in association with Bell Media’s Crave and SuperEcran and CBC Films.
